This is an elegant wine with a deep ruby colour. It has deeply layered cassis with a spicy richness.
The tannins are well integrated.
Serve at 17° – 19° with grilled or braised meats, prime steak or strong French cheeses.
The Bergsig Estate is in the Breedkloof area of Breede River Valley about 110 km from Cape Town. This is where the Drakenstein and Hex River Mountains meet, so the farm was named “Bergsig”, meaning “mountain view”.
