This Chardonnay is produced on the Bergsig Estate in South Africa.
It is fermented in small oak barrels. This makes a deliciously tasty wine with buttery fruit and vanillary oak.
Full-bodied and well-balanced, making it a good all rounder.
Serve at 10° – 12° with white fish, lobster, scallops, roasted chicken or pasta in cream sauces.
The Bergsig Estate is in the Breedkloof area of Breede River Valley about 110 km from Cape Town. This is where the Drakenstein and Hex River Mountains meet, so the farm was named “Bergsig”, meaning “mountain view”.
